Deepavali - The festival of lights

Today is Deepavali - an important festive day in any Hindu's calendar year. Though i am not in India right now, i had a wonderful time today. There was a project meeting today morning all my collegues bought different varieties of sweets & samosas to be distributed amonst the audience. We really thought that there will be a lot left since many may not really like the idea of eating sweets....But surprises of surprises, there were none left for us to have. such was the reception to our gesture. it was really nice.

Then in the afternoon we distributed diyas, that we had bought from India, to all in our team. We also shared a lovely chocolate cake. All of our collegues loved it. It was nice to share all these on the day of deepavali. I requested each and everyone of them to light their diyas today at home. I am sure some will do it.
