India v/s China

I sometimes wonder why India always gets compared with China. I feel that there is no basis of comparison, nor is there anything in India that we should be ashamed of when we compare ourself to China. Whatever the companies that go to China, make the coastal cities ( as i understand there is only underdevelopment in other parts of china ) bigger and richer, it is still an oppressive nation that does not give a damn about what its citizens think of it. Just imagine in India, we have atleast the right to say negative things about the govt. Just imagine if you do that in China. You will be spending the rest of your lives getting beaten up and reading mao's red books. Is that how life should be led. Should we need to be compared with a nation that does not mind killing & attacking other nations.Claiming our states to be theirs. Why should be worried about China. We should be proud of us being Indians as we are prosperous without those tendencies, self sufficient by our hardwork.
