We do hear about this a lot now a days. World largest music companies taking various steps to ensure that piracy does not happen for movies and music. Lawsuits, bickerings etc etc.
But sometimes I do wonder Is the problem of piracy to an extend bought about by the companies themselves. Now I think everyone is thinking of me as a blinking idiot trying to say 'Piracy is OK'. No I don't think it is Ok and neither do I support it. I was wondering why a DVD being sold in the shops costs as huge as £15 pounds. £15 pounds is no small amount. At the same time, everyone knows that if they wait for 2 months. they can buy the DVD at £10 and even later at £6. Are the companies not exploiting the customers by charging £15 pounds for a DVD which they can as well as sell at £6 pounds and make a decent profit. One thing is for sure no private organisation worth its salt will sell anything without profit involved in it. Is it not exploitation. What right do they have when they are in turn exploited. An umbrella of a big company does not change the fact that they also exploit customers and fleece them whenever possible. I am sure this world has loads of law abiding citizens who would willingly buy stuff when it costs less than see pirated versions. Well I know for a fact that I would.
Any thoughts or comments. Do let me know
