Mobiles put the web in your hands

For the mobile industry, waiting for people to use the net via their phone has been like waiting for a bus that never comes. Even though a huge number of mobile phones in use can access the internet, and after the launch of faster third-generation (3G) data services, only 10% of Europeans actually use their handsets to go online.

In short, an article on web experience from a mobile phone. Some very interesting points....what stuck onto me was 2 important points :

1. Stuart Jackson of Orange World : "It's not about the content that you can give to the customer, it's about the content the customer wants to access,"
2. Hit video-sharing site YouTube has a dedicated mobile phone portal that allows users in the US to upload clips while they are on the move.

I was just thinking of YouTube potential. Imagine you witnessing something on the movie, anything....be it an accident, something interesting, a very nice natural occurance, you whip your mobile phone out, record it and then upload the video onto YouTube. With in a matter of time the whole video can spread like a virus if your video has the potential. That is even before a television network had the ability to get into the spot and get their videos out. It is very interesting and at the same time it is scary.... kool isn't it?
