India is a very corrupt country. It is a well known fact. And most of our politicians that include members of parliament and ministers of the country are no exception. Unfortunately India has a huge number of people charge sheeted for various crimes including murder holding various posts. Is this acceptable? Should there be a code of conduct or a law that govern the MP's who hold these posts?
That is the question raised in a CNN IBN programme called Verdict.
Do watch this excellent discussion
I feel that it is almost next to impossible to pass such a law in India because the law is framed in the parliament and it is not a cause of any excitement for any of the political parties to pass such a law. It is unfortunate but the truth and this should change. There should be a law that kicks out any member of parliament who is corrupt or has been charge sheeted for various crimes. But will it ever happen? Only time can tell.

Won't happen !! unless there is a take over of the government and a dictator comes or we have a miltary rule ....
@vin >> Well that is a very strong thought. I don't want this country to be ruled by a dictator or by the Army. The Indian Army has always stayed from political decisions and that is something that I really admire. We the people have to force our MP's and the govt to pass such a law. After all democracy has to rule above anything else.
If wishes were horses....
@Usha >> true. Anyways...
