I would imagine that a great deal of it is because they haven't had the opportunity to interact with people who are similar to themselves but look or sound different, and a lack of opportunity to meet people who look and sound like they do but are very different. In short, isolation from the world.

I would agree with Barani...far too many people with an agenda, and a desire for power, not matter what the human cost.
Better get used to it, I guess :-(
