A forgotten hero still battles for life

On October 29, 2005, a blast in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus on route No. 753 in Govindpuri, Delhi, didn't lead to a single death. And the credit for averting the mishap goes to the driver, Kuldeep Singh, who saw the explosives stashed in the bus and threw them out in time but injured himself grievously in the process.

The passengers on that ill-fated bus have moved on, but the driver who saved them is still struggling to get back on his feet.

Soon after the blast, Singh and his wife were blessed with a baby boy but when the child was born Singh could only touch and feel him.

Singh had lost his vision and couldn't hear properly after the blast.
