Not sure whether one should call it humility or something else, anyways here you go
I had gone to Kerala for the week end. Yesterday I was sitting at house and thinking something. A beggar came to our house. He had a typical look...a big back hung over his shoulders. a harmonium in his hand and he was pretty aged person. As soon as he entered I sort of told him to go away...and then gave him a Rs2 coin to get rid of him. He took it in his hands and said...I just wanted to sing...Let me sing for you
.I was dismissive...But then my father asked him to sit down and sing...
He rendered some very beautiful Rama bhajans, 3 of them infact...I couldn't help but notice the earnestness of his voice. I got hold of my grand father and got him seated to hear the songs. I also sat down and lastly he sang one hanuman song
It was really sweet and heartning. I couldn't help but notice the tear drop in my eyes. My father gave him 2 old shirts....and Rs.10 note. later on I came to know that he is from Karnataka...and he comes once in a year to our house. and sings for us. Well he may be doing that in other houses also. but .....we welcome him and listen to him always.
I learnt that I can't be or I reckon I shouldn't be a dismissive sod
Don't be dismissive of people...You never know what you are gonna miss
